Primary Applications:

Heptane comprises about 1% of all gasoline. A fuel that is pure Heptane has a zero Octane rating while a fuel that is pure IsoOctane has an Octane rating of 100. Heptane is also used heavily in extraction, particularly in Pharmaceutical extraction.
